I have a homemade master cylinder bracket in my '34. The pedal pulls forward on a flat bar that pivots 2" down and 2" below that it pushes backwards on the master cyl rod.

    Question:
If I move the pedal attachment point up 1 more inch, will it amplify the 'pushing power' on the mast cyl rod?

Or should I drop the mast cyl attachment point 1" down to provide more?

I'm trying to get more force to act on the mast cyl rod so that I can get firmer brakes.

    Hopefully this makes sense....

  2. Shorter distance to the pivot from the arm will give you more power supplied by the leg but less travel (stroke) to the master
