That's a tough hand dealt, for sure.
Rest assured that we will all pray & hope for the best outcome!!
Please try to remain your best 'you' throughout; that kind of stress can induce emotions that you've tried to bury for years.

    Hang in there. And here.
I'm a librarian, with a pretty good range of medical resources via the university; If you need to find yourself information sources on the type of tumor, drug info, whatever, I can possibly help. Just let me know and I'll chase it down.

Good luck, and stay positive. My uncle has been living with an inoperable brain tumor for almost ten years now. With monitoring and medication he has continued to live a normal life - he just doesn't take anything for granted anymore!

My Aunt was diagnosed last year with cancer, she went thru the treatment and is now clean and healthy. The treatment continues to improve year by year. Hang in there.

    John,

What you have, in hot rodders terms is a flat tire. It's going to slow you down until you can get it fixed and be on your way again.

For me,, I don't know if it was all of the other H.A.M.B.'ers here praying for me, a good out look, or just plain ole meanness, that I had made up my mind that this wasn't going to be my time. Maybe it was a combination of all of it, I don't know.

But one of the things that really did help, and that was knowing so many others here, many who did not even know me, offered up their prayers and well wishes. So many people really cared about me. It was comforting, and I didn't want to let all these people down.

So be it with you John, you will pull through this. We really do care about you. We want to be able to read later on from you of how you over came your bout with your tumor.

    Best wishes and prayers.

My friend had a cat scan after a fender-bender and they found a huge brain tumor. They scared the shit outta' him, and when they performed the first surgery through the roof of his mouth it was found to be a cyst, which they removed easily and he is fine.

I am a cancer survivor. Attitude is everything. They originally gave me two years to live, but my doctor told me to not lose hope. Hope is the best weapon in your arsenal.

Email me unkledaddy@aol.com if you need anything. If we go to Arizona this winter I'll holler.

    You'll be fine,
    Pete

Google something called Allostim. It's a new treatment option not approved yet by the FDA, it's available in Thailand. My mom's man is currently undergoing the treatment. It trains your own immune system to attack the tumor. So if the worst (radiation/chemo doesn't work) comes around, you still have options. This treatment is still in clinical trials, but his cancer is a recurrence and unresponsive to chemo and radiation. Best of luck to you and your family.I will keep my fingers crossed and send you good juju vibes.) Hang in there and kick its ass!

All the well wishes and prayers really mean the world to me. Really does.
I know we're never really given more than we can handle, and the tumor's been out for a month now, so we're just dealing with possible residuals. So that's comforting in a strange way. I think that gives me a good head start on reaching a perfect goal!

The more I think about it and dwell on it, the more my mind settles in a good place. I'm not planning any lifestyle changes, and was always careful around shop chemicals. I'll just be even more careful now!

I also learned that if you have cancer, that when you eat sugar the body processes it normally, and the cancer cells somehow hog it for food. Makes them grow faster. So, I'm greatly reducing my sugar intake.

So, anyway, I'm at work doing rear brakes on a great big dump truck and having a good morning! Even better after reading your posts!

    Cheers!

John, Keep thinking positive thoughts. A very close friend of ours is now a three time cancer survivor. It can mostly be attributed to no negative vibes around her - and lots of love from her family.
