Technical Brake check - can I pull this off ?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 31Vicky with a hemi, Mar 22, 2014.

  1. From a mopar master cylinder :
I need to remove the internal 10lb residual valves and replace them with 2lb residual valves.

On the interweb there's plenty of info on getting them out. Easy peazy. None on procuring the 2 lb ones or installing them.

  2. remove them from the master cylinder , then use some 2 lb inline ones

  3. Yes thought of that too.
But would like to eliminate the inline units and 4 joints if its easy to get them.

There were never any factory 2 lb internal residual valves, because there were never any U.S. production disc braked vehicles with below floor master cylinders. (The Chrysler and Kinmont discs of the '50s are exceptions; they needed normal drum residuals because they used return springs.)
The 2 lb disc residual is strictly aftermarket.
    :)
