brake cylinder booster

Hello board:Could someone please explain how to go about selecting a master cylinder and booster for a street rod? I know there are different size units,different size bores, disc and or drums,I don't have a clue,something to do with the weight of the car? HELP.Also does it matter if mounted on fire wall or under floor?pros and cons please.HELP
