I have a pair of front brakes from an F-150 minus drums. I would like to run Buick drums, what needs to be machined? I'm running 40 Ford round back spindles and 40 hubs. My spindles line up with the bolts holes in the backing plates.

What year are the truck brakes? I've never heard of F-150 stuff bolting up to an early Ford spindle. That usually stopped in 1956, which was an F-100.

Anyways, those brakes are 11" diameter, and finned Buick drums are 12". You would need to push way too hard on the brake pedal to make the car stop.
