Hey guys just finished up my rear suspension upgrade and now I'm going to order a "Chevy of the 40s" front disc brake conversion kit.
I found out they only make them in 5 on 4 3/4 bolt pattern. I asked the tech what bearings are in there ,he wouldn't tell me. So my question is "what 5X5 bolt pattern 11 inch rotar will fit on a 1941 Chevy 1/2 ton AK series stock front end."
Im also thinking just buying the kit and finding what bearings are in their and going from there. My rearend is a 5on5 posi Chevy truck rear axle from a 64.

    Please help

I don't know of one that will just go on with the caliper brackets set up for the Chevelle, Camaro style rotors.
I was thinking of one that might but looking it up it is the same 5 on 5 rotor that fits most 5 on 5 bolt pattern GM cars and 1/2 ton pickups That is this one that is 11.8 inches in diameter while most conversions are set up for the 11 inch rotors.

uh...yeah...I got that. But which part number is the kit you're looking at from Chevy of the 40s? I didn't see one listed for 41 trucks.

The kit for the earlier cars and trucks (707, fits up to 1940) uses A13 wheel bearings.

I'm pretty sure that the cars and trucks that used 5 on 5" bolt circle were all 12" rotors.

So all these guys running the Disc brake conversions are using S10 axles or early malibu or camaro axles?

Mostly. The Nova and Camaro rears from the 70s are pretty common.

Posis are not very common, most guys don't bother. I have a 74 Nova 8.5" 10 bolt in my 57 suburban, matching Camaro front subframe, and no posi. I do have posi or locker in my faster rides, like my 59 chevy pickup with a Dana 60 6 lug and original front brakes.

Im finding that out and regretting wasting time on something thats been sold to China.

  17. 64 Chevy is 6 bolt not 5 bolt. Maybe try again with your description?

Whey do you need to know what bearings? I don't understand where you are trying to go?

I think they make 5 on 5 bolt pattern axles for the 64-69 chevy truck rearends, guys want them to match the front brakes when the swap front disks on from a 70s truck.

my wife just got a 10 year old off topic car that came from the factory with no spare tire and no run flat tires. It's pretty common these days to not have a spare. And having a spare is the only reason that the front and rear bolt pattern need to match, isn't it?

  21. If it is a chevy truck rear use car axles. There is no difference in the truck and car axles, with the exception of the bolt pattern or if it is a 10 bolt or 12 bolt rear. The truck should be a 12 bolt so you will need to find rear axles from a fill sized car.

I wonder what axles you are using for your upgrade, this is just a question. I have never heard of a 5 on 5 axle upgrade for a chevy truck is why I am asking and it would be handy to know for the fellas who are using 5 on5 wheels.

You do have another option that would be easier than looking for different axles, if you have axles that are 5 on 5 or 6 on 5.5 you can have the axles drilled to 5 on 4.75. If you don't want to look for a machinist you can get drill guides from someone on here or I can make you a transfer template if you like.

Anyway the question was just a question and I really am just trying to help.

By the way if it is GM specifically Chevy between the @squirrel and me if no solution is found that is because there is no solution. The squirrel is sharp and I can jerry rig anything. ;)
