What do people think about routing brake line here.

I can't run it through the C-channel frame as its fully boxed (closed on inside with supports). Going lower is hard to to the cross member and mainly Control arm supports.

The line does rest on the top of the engine supports as it crosses behind the CA - which makes me wonder should I add ....

  4. Just an insulated clamp...... Tapped into the frame. If your worried about vibrations, once secured, it ain't going anywhere. If you want to hide it, just it bend down, and run it under the frame rail.... The further away from heat=the better.

    thanks.
Is heat a real concern ? I measured the clostest distance at the collector of exhaust at around 1.6". Everything else closer to 3".

  6. Would avoid running under the frame. Some tire store kid might throw a jack right under the brake line and mash it.

  7. I wouln't worry about the heat, as long as it not touching the exhaust your OK. HRP

You might need a heat shield by the exhaust tube.

Adel clamps on the brake line to secure it will prevent rubbing.

The stainless spring armor is awesome. Saved my ass on Power Tour when an exhaust hanger broke and dropped the pipe on the rear axle. I had armored the brake tubing on the axle, since I had the stuff left over from doing the same on the rear axle of my DD. The exhaust tube bounced on the armor, kinda bent it up a bit, but didn’t manage to squish the brake tubing.

I like these kind of clamps. They are inexpensive and secure the lines tightly to the frame. They are made of some kind of fiber or plastic but are very strong...and they come in different sizes for exact fit to the line. Look good when done too. Clamp x.jpg

Al my brake and fuel lines are surface mounted. I've got Billet Specialties aluminum clamps. 2 piece aluminum clamp, the 2 pieces interlock to keep them oriented correctly and they attach to the frame rail with a single tapped hole. The bolt is recessed so nothing is sticking out to grab you. If you go to anywhere that sells them, they ill also have a chart on spacing of clamps so you don't have too long of a section unsupported. Very clean and simple to use. Might have to squint to see them but these pictures will show them used in a couple different sizes.
