This plastic proportioning valve switch is leaking. I can replace it, no problem. I understand it is a warning switch for the dual braking system. My thought is that it should not have pressure on it if the system is worming normally. My question is: Is it normal for the switch to have pressure if the brakes are operating normally? The brakes seemed fine until the large reservoir in the master ran dry and then had a low pedal. I see no signs of a leak other than at the switch. I appreciate any advice. pv switch.jpg

If I understand the question correctly, there should be no pressure on it to replace it. I changed one once not due to a leak but because the switch was bad causing the brake light to stay on. I put rags under it and had the new switch ready to go in as soon as I pulled the bad one out. Only a slight amount of brake fluid came out. Didn't have to bleed brakes after.

Thanks, but I was "***uming" ( I know) it is a pressure switch and was concerned that maybe I have a brake problem and putting pressure on the switch. I now know it is a grounding switch. I have a replacement on the way. Thanks for your reply.
