Hot Rods Brake Set Up Help

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by zigafoose, Mar 23, 2014.

  1. Im going to run a non power Disk/Drum set up and will be using a Wilwood 7/8 Tandem Master Cylinder.
I believe I need to run Adjustable Proportioning Valve on the front disks and a 10 pound Residual Pressure Valve on the rear drums.

    Running 3/16 lines.
Master Cylinder is Wilwood Part Number 260-9439
Prop Valve Wilwood Part Number 260-10922
Presure Valve is Wilwood Part Number 260-1876

Is this correct or does the Proportioning Valve go on the rear (drums) along with the pressure valve?

    Thanks

Sounds OK but if your master cylinder is below your calipers then at least a 2 lb. residual valve is needed in the front to prevent fluid from flowing back from the calipers into the master cylinder.

Proportioning valve goes in the rear line. That's the one where you want to reduce overall pressure because the drums take less to operate than discs.
