I know, you will all laugh at me, but I am way old and things are escaping me, that I know, I know ! I am second guessing myself.. It is not nice getting old...do the longer brake shoes go to the front or on the back.???? I think they should go on the back, facing the front of the car..thanks, Lloyd

I'm not laughing at all....getting old isn't easy, but I probably couldn't have answered that when I was younger...maybe, not sure, I don't remember. Change to discs, you won't have to worry about it.
Funny part is, I just got thru reading yet another thread on the main board about so few younger guys followings our interests.

Just did my Brakes and I know that the Longer Brake Shoe goes on the Rear.
The Shorter One goes on toward the Front.
The Emergency Brake Cable Connects on the Rear Shoe also.
I use a Digital Camera and Take Before Photos to help me because
sometimes it a long time before things go back together!

We all forget things. I gave a horrible memory. My cell phone is my best friend when it comes time to re***emble. Also if your doing something new, for example converting to disc brakes, someone has done it and posted pictures. The Internet is a great tool for that.

This is something I learned around in 1973 in automotive school. Once you learn it, you won't forget it. Over the years I've still seen some real mechanics who messed it up.
