I am have a problem with my tail lights. When I turn on my headlights my tail lights are very bright. When I turn off my headlights I don't get any brake lights. The bulb for the tail lights is a dual filiment. Should I use a single filament bulb? I am not running blinkers or backup lights. Also on my push rod for the master cylinder how much pressure should there be on the master cylinder with the rod ?Should there be any at all? Thanks
With the pedal in the released position, there should be a small amount of free play in the push rod. Can't advise on your electrical issues. Mart.
what happens when you hit the brakes with the headlights on? you mentioned the tail lights are bright, but nothing about the brake lights (headlights on)... Check for power and ground at the brake light switch.
How do you have every thing wired? Have you ran good grounds for your headlights, tail lights and overall electrical? Do you have a steering column that you are running the wiring thru, or an older style column? Many funky happenings go on with just bad grounds.... Little more info and we can probably point you in a direction to help. Tom
You have some wires crossed, you will need double filament bulbs if you expect to have running lights (when the headlights are on) and brake lights when the headlight are on or off. HRP
Are you sure that there are not lights on when the pedal is pushed,( but the headlights off) that are just dim. Double check that, and if that is the case, you have the wires at the lights crossed.
