Any one ever tried to convert a 54 chevy to power brakes by pulling the brake booster and master cylinder from a g-body and mounting it on the firewall. Will it work.Has anyone done this.

    Thanks

  2. It will work, im currently looking for a donor car. I beleive you need an adapter that chassie engineering or walten fab sells to mount the roter.

Whole pedal assembly was used in mine from a donor Monte SS which provided the mount for the steering and the master/booster.

Also try a booster from a fiero it is smaller and still enough power for the brake system.

Pretty much the idea behind the Walton Kit. But G body masters are for disc brakes, and ECI makes a good basic kit.

FYI, a 1" non power master cylinder mounted in the stock location does a great job without heavy pedal effort. I made my own, but there is a kit available. Filling Station
