Ok...I didn't follow the rules and posted a couple of times before filling out my FNG Hello. So to make amends here it is. My current project is a 36 Ford Fordor Sedan that my 5 year old daughter says is her's and it's going to be pink. Wrong on both accounts! The car is all original with very little rust. When I got it it was partialy disasembled, sort of painted, mostly in boxes. But like most old cars has had some really dumb things done to it. I'm kind of new to the street car thing so I may / will have some stupid questions. I grew up around stock car racing in Connecticut. Dad ran a modified at the Waterford Speedbowl for about 12 years , check out the 60'70 Vinatage Oval Track Modifeds pg 80 it's the 72 on it's lid with the pit gate laying next to it. When I was about 10 my dad taught me to weld with a cutting torch and a coat hanger. Yup old school backhoe welding!! Once you got the hang of that or you could get what ever you were fixing close enough to the shed you could finish off welding with the trusty Miller Thunderbolt. I still like to gas weld when the situation arrises. I drove in a few races, but ended up being a crew member on a friends car running the old NASCAR North Series when the Buick V6 motors were popular. After that I went back to Bowl and wrenched on other buddies' Modified and Prostock (super latemodel) at Thompson Speedway. Being a low buck opperation we fabricated most of the parts on our car, body panels, nerf bars, bumbers, brackets, upper and lower suspension pieces. Basically anything we couldn't afford to buy, which was a lot. If anybody's near SE Connecticut and would like to help out let me know!!
