Do you have, or know someone who has a mill? I have a full machinist tool chest for sale that would be a big****et. (There is not much in it that would be helpful for a lathe). The box is a refurbished 11 drawer oak H. Gerstner made in the 40's. Some of the tools include 8 different micrometers, calipers, indicators, hole gages, etc etc. and lots of set-up stuff. 1400., and includes an additional small tool box with more set-up stuff, and drills, end mills, etc.
No shipping, so it'll have to be someone within a reasonable driving distance, and I can meet someone if necessary. I can post or send pics.
Jeff, if this is inappropriate, just delete, or let me know, and I'll delete.

I'm pretty well set for machine shop tools. I have my Kennedy box i got in 1980, my dad's 2 boxes from his Grumman days.

The old Gerstner boxes are very cool. The knock offs are just not the same.

H Gerstner is still in business, Amazon is one source for them. Mine is an 11 drawer, originally "leatherette" covered. Amazon sells their 10 drawer for 2395.00!
    Where are you seeing "knockoffs"?

Harbor Fright has the knock offs. They are quite inexpensive compared to the real ones.

I finally got things fixed with my ability to download pics on my computer. All the stuff in front of the tool box goes in the top section.
That black machinist' handbook is 105 years old. It was the only thing in the box when I bought it from the widow of a machinist that retired in '59. The box was originally covered in a black pebbled "leatherette". 20250816_43.jpg

I don't have a mill, but I really like the jacks.

I totally forgot I had posted this here. It was sold months ago. Thanks for the posts.
