  2. 65pacecar, I know that GTO from way back. My friend Mike Sarniak (RIP) owned it for a while in the '70s. I posted a old pic of it earlier in the thread..Mitch

  5. Yea 65, it was. I should of bought it when he put it up for sale but we all know how that goes. For a while there I was trying to find it but it's kinda fell off the earth. Miracles sometimes do happen though. Mitch

Beautiful car. Did it look like that in the 70s? The Devil is in the details. I don't think that MSD Blaster coil, nor the carbon braided fuel lines were even available in the 70s. And the trailer in the background wasn't around in the 70s. Max length back then was 48' not the 53 in the picture. I know I would have loved to have one like that back then. My Challenger sure didn't look like that and I entered it in shows.

You know this is the "Off Topic" section, right?
The thread topic is "Bring on the Street Freaks," doesn't list a time frame.
The Chevelle sure has the appearance of a modern day trip back to the Street Freak era. I suspect that if that stuff was available back in the 70s, you would have had it on your car. You probably can't buy most of the parts that were actually used on those Street Freak cars from the 70s today.

Good point, I was thinking "traditional" street freaks. I obviously took it wrong that it was being represented as a back in the day photo not a today's effort. As I stated, it is a very nice car. I can only wish I had one like it today. Back in the day my car started out more show and by the time I sold it, it had earned some battle scars from street racing. The Army wouldn't let me take it to Germany with the blower sticking out the hood.
