That's some crazy ass rides. A guy in my high school had an '64 impala like the maroon one with the nosebleed and step ladder to get in it stance back in '78. Did u get a good look at the front axle on that Impala the 63-64 it's funky?

 

Looks like a 1946 ford front axle assy to me.

 

I just think of the effort needed to repaint some of those custom lacquer jobs. You would need to strip everything down to bare metal, oh what a mess an eighth inch of clear makes.

I always found a good razor scraper to strip paint worked best for me.
