I decided I needed to create some shade since we can't spend the whole day in the beer tent or wandering the grounds of car shows so I built this. Made a bumper out of 6" c-channel with a receiver built into it so I can also tow. Got a big honkin' offset umbrella and added a piece of square stock to the post so the umbrella can rotate 360 degrees. If there is that much wind I will be chasing the truck through the park http://www.flickr.com/photos/22832895@N08/ <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/22832895@N08/7956833456/" ***le="IMG_2240 by 1jazz, on Flickr"></a
Nice idea. I HATE frying in the sun, and having those pop-up canopies blowing away in a sudden gust of wind isnt cool either.
Ditto to what Dakota boy said plus you always seem to piss someone off when you take up a space for the pop up canopy. With the umbrella you can fold it down when you go off to sniff chrome or get something to eat and not worry about the wind catching it.
Ya that's my brainstorm for the year,,and while sniffing chrome I spent $12.00 on this musical Rolls Royce decanter a vendor had at the flea market,,all metal and gl*** lined...just too cool,,wind it up and plays How Dry i am
