Hmmm... looks like about a 2 hour drive from where I'll be, but if I can't get up to Lake Compounce till about Noon is it even worth going?

They start early and end early there, seems like it's all done by 1:30-2:00. Might not be worth the trip if you can't get there any earlier.

Yeah that's about what I thought... gotta be in Parsippany around 8:30, can't leave there till 9/9-30 or so and it'd take every bit of 2 hours to get up there in the Ford....

Emailed Thompson a few days ago, they only got a few inches of snow which had already melted, Russ Dowd (Mngr.) said they are all set...have had calls from all over...emailed Lebanon Valley & they had about 7 inches which was melting fast & they were all set. As far as LC hope it goes OK.A lot of the shows have some junk, a few limit the real junk but there's always something to see & hunt for....especially with winter around the corner. Good luck to all & happy hunting this weekend! steve

I'll be in Thompson tomorrow morning, and Lebanon Valley Sunday morning. It pisses me off that LV and Bristol are on the same day; for a few years, they were on consecutive weekends and I could hit them both.

Apparently I will be in the 1% of CT residents that still wont have power by Sunday evening. I'm on day 8 now. I'm gonna have to skip out on Compounce. I have a few truck loads of downed tree limbs that need to get cleaned up and a fence that is falling over.

If you don't have power there is know better way to spent the day

This year they will be parking venders all night so just show up no sleeping in the truck in line

I just got back from Thompson, and there were vendors there who claim Lake Compounce is cancelled. Add some confusion to the mix.

Nice! I saw that phone and kept thinking I should have bought it. That was the guy with the Caddy with greenwalls, right?

I snagged about 130 or so old hot rod/car life/etc magazines for $100, hubcaps for my Ford, a NOS cap and rotor in the original box for $1 and the perfect wiper blades.

Way better than the waste of time that Englishtown has become.

yup that was him....he was a cool guy and chatted him down $80, he gave me both for $100 and I felt he was being very kind accepting so my tight wallet opened up, both the lamp and phone came from the fifties which adds to the charm!

Glad you found some cool stuff. The guys website is www.koolfreakingcreations.com , he is a hell of a pinstriper

That's Chris Machin. Great guy, super cool and down to earth. We've been good friends since the 6th grade.... since 1972. I keep offering to chop that Caddy for him, but he digs it with that big-*** visor on it. He does great work, indeed.

thats cool you are friends with him...wish i could have bought more stuff from him...he was mentioning a refrigerator he did and I'm dying to see it...we said its wild and he used a half a bowling ball on the fridge to make a eye! i'm very very picky when it comes to art and have only bought from two other artists, i'm thrilled I found another artist I like!

It ended up being a real awesome day. I figured it was going to be real wet, but it was dryer than a lot of years. With those power trucks in the usual car caral area, they really packed the rest in, but the CSRA did a great job as usual!!
Me and the guys made a bunch of great deals on stuff, and filled my p/u!:D
