Well..... it was a 20 hour round trip but we brought home one of my dream cars today. Looking forward to tearing into this 'ol gal this winter! Of course I will start a build thread when the time is right! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Great score. The only way I could tell it's a '39 was the wiper holes above the windshield instead of on the cowl. So good it wasn't left to rust after the PO stopped media blasting.
..............The headlight buckets and second row of hood side trim (holes) are other tell-tale indicators of a '39 DeLuxe. Looks like a great find, Tater Bug. Appears to already have some suspension work done (lowered). Any drivetrain included? Man, I love those '39's, maybe even more than '40's (gulp)!....They still had the crank-out windshield and the cowl vent. The one-piece side windows look so much cleaner than the '40 with the wind wind vent windows. And of course those teardrop tail-lights are classics. Keep us in the loop (with pictures) as you make progress...........................Don.
No drive train Dropped axle After a lot of deliberation I came to The conclusion that the 39 deluxe is my favorite. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Nice coupe project, another fan of the '39 Deluxe over the '40 Deluxe (I have a '39 Deluxe coupe and a '40 Convertible).
Congrats ! 39 and 40 coupes, has always been my dream rod too. But I would have too part with one of my old Rods to get one. As for my favorite of the two. That's like asking if I like blondes or burnetts, better. I love them both! I'd like to know some history too. What a great start. So keep us posted.
