Even though the little 21 stud engine seems to run fine I'm getting the coupe ready to install the 24 stud 239. Just ordered a radiator from Br***works http://www.thebr***works.net/ It will be a 4 core, with shroud and fan. Decided to go that route for better cooling and drivability. I also sent two model 8B carbs I had in to be modified and rebuilt. http://www.gocatspeedshop.com/

Can't wait to get this stuff so I can get the "Hot Rod" engine in.

Awesome car and awesome engine! Also, thanks for that link to Br***works, looks like they make a nice original looking Ford radiator.

I can't wait to hear that 239 run. Very cool.

I have a 21 stud in my car now. It's OK, but just not a hot rod.

Got my new "Br***works" radiator today. Like the name it is a 4 core br*** radiator. Looks to be very well made and quite heavy about 60 lbs.

It has a full fan shroud and electric fan. There may be some clearance issuses with 59 AB engine so just to be safe I went with an electric. Should cool better too. It has a built in temperature sensor port in the bottom tank to turn the fan on. It also came with a wiring harness with relay.

This is a pressurized system so the top filler is a dummy so I can use the original Greyhound filler cap. The fill port is under the hood and will take a 7# cap. The radiator is set up for a Flathead Ford.

Thanks! It has G78X15s all the way around now. I was thinking of going to a 5.60 X 15 in the front. That should drop it about another inch in front.

    Thanks Guys!

Here's why I got the new radiator. It was "fixed one time. About a 1/4 of one row of the cores is not functional. Didn't want any possible cooling issues.

Most everything is disconnected and ready to pull. Still need to unbolt the transmission.

The little engine is out. Just got back my 2 rebuilt Holley 94s and a Rebel Wire 9+3 wiring harness.

Replumbed the brakes. I didn't like the way they were run and the brake line on the rear end did not have a flex hose on it.

Tore our the headliner and cleaned out all the mouse poop, nests and bodies. Wow, it doesn't smell bad any more.

Now to rewire it and convert to 12 volt. Install the 59AB engine and new radiator. Then finish the interior.

Put in the 1948 59AB engine today. Getting everything ready. I love the electric hoist I added to my gantry crane!

Here's my helper Jeese. Young lad I'm trying to teach how to work on old cars. This is the first time he's help put in a car engine. He does work on motorcycles though.

Here it is in the car. Looks great if you don't mind me saying so! :D

I also swapped out the big and little radial tires off my Stude.

Here's a picture of the adapters used to install the 24 stud engines in an early ch***is. See the blue u-shaped pieces.

The 59A engine had a double belt pulley on a long snout crank. I had to cut off the fan pulley so it would fit the ch***is. Youcan either run an electric fan as I did or run a fan mounted alternator.
The clearance is really close I had to jack the engine up to get the alternator belt on.

Here you can the rake going on. Posie's drop front spring with 195s in the front and 215s in the rear.

Just a few shot of the interior work in progress.

Found this new/old aftermarket oil filter last week at a swap meet. It has a bronze filter element you can just take out and clean with a drain plug to drain and acuumulated sludge. Made by Permanent Filter Division of Continental Manufacturing Corp. Culver City, CA.Thought it would work good and only $15.

Excelllent car, you just don't find them in that condition anymore (you've obviously made a liar out of me on that count). Seriously, just keep on the path your already on and you'll have one sweet traditional hot rod.
