O.K. here it is the secret is out (Thanks to Nick) So now with his help, some more pics. I have an art post on here somewhere with a idea of the finished project.

So dig it, and now that I own Gordons old car and Sam has a 55 we can go two rounds. Bummed I missed the drags this year but I tried.

You're retarded. This car, on the other hand, is pretty bitchin'. I dig it. What's my post count now?

  15. Looks bad-ass.

    One problem I see, though...
These welds are in a BAD spot... especially with the engine mounts sitting right on that joint.
Crossways welds on a stressmember... a BIG no-no.

Just watch for cracks to develop. Even if the paint cracks... that's an indication of failure.
    Sorry....

Joe, Those plates are more for asthetics than anything. Under the 2x4 is welded and gusseted to the old frame. We also tied everything in there kina for that reason. Also there is going to be a piece of 1 3/4 tubing bent under the oil pan from rail to rail to make that are extra srtong.

But I will keep my eyes peeld.

  21. OMG! LMAO

Im wasnt to fond of Chevys until this year. Especially the 55's on this board. I really like the look of those cars and...this gasser is Fricken Bad Ass. I love the car....cant wait to see it finished.

(maybe i have been flooded by too many "shiney billet, LT1, 20" rim, leather seated, Gold plated, around the neck thick chain" rides.)

  23. Hey Flip, awesome '55!

Just to keep the shit talking going... I got this to say:

You're gonna need more carbs or cubes if you wanna run the Yeller Bananna!!

    Wuhahahahahahaha!!

    Now where's my welder???...

Not gona cut the rear quarters ! ? I like the look of em stock and I kina figured if I found a shell with em cut COOL, but if they were stock I was gona leave it. It will be a little different. Plus ya know when I wana turn it into a billit fag mobile when I am .....(Well fill in the blank)years old and I finally finish the dinner/roller waitress diarama for car shows I will need the stock wheel openings to go along with my back to the fifties sound track playing from my drive in speaker.

  27. You know... get some big window Halibrands... 16 x 11's... throw some M&H slicks on 'em, the ones the Nostalgia Top Fuel guys run... and then CUT THE FUCKING FENDERS OUT!!! :D

You know it's the right thing to do, FLIP... besides, then there's no chance of ever becoming a billet clad tri-five greybeard (TM).

I traded my 15x10 halibrands to Gordon.....? Ooops. But I think that since I will be putting brakes on the front, so I can stop, I will be running the Halibrand skinnies in the front. Unless my testicles drop and I decide to go brake-less? I have a history of crashing cars and I think that I need a gentler stop than hitting another car??? (brakes).

    Wheel wells??....???.....

    FLIP

  29. I meant wheel wells...

Hey, good idea on the brakes... that way, when you're doing 130 mph, and it starts swaying back and forth... you can hit the brakes...

uh, you're probably gonna want a chute too! :D

Subliminal message imbedded in this post ******cut the rear wheel wells out****** end of subliminal message.

    Sam.
