I have been in conversations with Bruce since about 2016. I usually hear from him every week or so. He did move from Tennessee to NC a few years back, I don't think he was impacted from the hurricane at all. His last check-in here was on December 13th. Has anyone heard from him? Thanks.
I seem to remember a post somewhere on the Hamb saying that Bruce doesn't own a Hamb friendly car anymore. So he hasn't had anything to post.
Funny, I was just thinking of him the other day when I saw a Craigslist add for a '64 Mopar long roof. Last I knew he was looking for a HAMB friendly wagon. Hope he is OK and is still looking for a wagon or better yet, found one.
I'd say the criteria is like rather than own and we don't kick you out of the clubhouse because you no longer own one as long as you don't play show and tell here with the OT. This is more on the line of being concerned about Bruce's well being. One of my two best friends for over 40 years passed away on the 25th after spending several years in a nursing home with dementia. I didn't hear about it until my friend who owns a tow company hauled my OT looks like an old Chevy burb box with wheels on the 29th for me. Later I hunted up his Obit online. Now it is time to check up on Bruce.
I sent him a message recently with my cell number, in case he wanted to reach out. Bruce has been working on his OT cars, so we talk cars, fishing, etc. He did move into a place with a large shop/garage. Update: I tracked him down to find his house in NC. Did a search on owners/occupants. He has been active on FB recently. I left him a message.
I can testify to how quickly things can go bad. Just last fall, I had started feeling some pains in my chest that would come and go, nothing so bad as to warrant a trip to the ER, or so I thought, but at my wife's insistence I made a Dr's appt and went in feeling ashamed that I was going because I felt fine as I walked in. She ran a few tests and told me to get my butt to the ER. I phoned my wife and went straight from the Dr's office to the ER, they admitted me, ran a bunch of tests, that was on a Friday, by Monday morning I was having a quadruple bypass heart surgery. The main artery was 95% blocked and the others were not far behind. I was lucky to get a warning, many guys never do, the first warning they get is when they have a widow maker heart attack. Just that fast things can go south in a bad way. One day you're feeling fine, the next you're at death's door. No time to stop and let folks on an internet forum know about it. It's good that you guys keep an eye out for each other.
