I have been a hot rodder since I took the briggs and stratten three horse engine off of dads motorized reel lawn mower (12 years old) and bolted it and belt drove my bicycle, made about 75mph at the bottom of the hill and noticed that the tire was around four inches from the rim.Centrifical force. I loved it , speed . An addiction for life. I built a '37 chevrolet coupe in my mothers garage in '63 ( high school) powered by a 265' chevy, three speed , pontiac 4:10 ratio rear end . Balanced pistons ,rods ( with a postal scale), ported heads with a 1/4 drill , swirl polished the valves with the same drill and sand paper. Lightened the fly wheel on a borrowed brake lathe ( oh yes you can ) duntov cam, me and grand mothers upholstry , we used a lot of nauga hyde's . AAfuel digger racing with Ed Mabry , lots of hot rods ,'51 ford , 31 ford roadster, B/altered '25 ( originally Cody Parr's) Phill Weiands roadster '25 built in 1936 by Phill , '32 five window ford 392' hemi powered, AAfuel/altered from the seventys( magnum force), Wayne Atkinsons 25 ford roadster pick up (many articles appeared in HOT ROD MECHANIX) with a blown flat head, 59 silver hawk, and more mopars, I have raced bikes, boats, diggers, g***ers, B'ville. I am Just a HOT RODDER at heart.
