A little something different here from our end. I loaded up our portable repair shop used at the Newport Indiana Hill Climb each year and took it to the Rockville Covered Brdge Model T Tour.
Looks like there are 65 cars entered this year and i will post each days events as they happen with some pictures.
Tomorrow morning we drive out to the "Jungle Park" race car reunion held at the old historic Jungle Park track from years ago. There will be a display of vintage racers from the old days.
More pics as the week goes on....

Yes the discs are from a ford expedition. They fit pretty well with the emergency brake section (hat) fitting over the small drum backing plate. I use a model A emergency brake handle and tilson master cylinder, they work really well.:)

Bubba, do you know a guy from Louisville KY named Tom Moorehead? I met him a couple of weeks ago and I think he mentioned your portable shop. He's a big "T" guy.

We left at 11 for the T tour thru the covered bridges etc. First stop was Billie Creek and thru the woods, a lowered car with fenders excites the wife driving thru a creek for sure, hate that old muddy water, i think my front axle graded a few spots for the others behind me. Just get it in and stand on it and hope ya make it out....:D

  19. Yo Bubba,

Caught a glimpse of yah as we rolled into Jungle Park.
You must have been an early bird, we got stuck in the Biscuits and Gravey at Charlie Browns.

If you have a 27 T roadster around on the tour, could you measure the dims across the bottom of the opening of the doors---Its a crazy SCTA requirement for the Modified Roadster calss---you are required to supply that dimension to the tech inspector.

Tour day 2….. After day one in the Speedster with no top we decided to take our other T (Barbs Car) with a top. We call it “Jed” Jed is a 1917 Roadster pickup we just bought a few months ago and we really haven’t driven it but about 300 miles etc. Seems like it still needs a few things for sure…

After a short 8:30 drivers meeting we were told our route ( 85 miles worth) and left the fairgrounds out the back gate and on gravel roads.Nothing like a T on gravel .

First stop was a equipment display out in the country where the guy had just about everything from plows to a running Delco Light Plant. He also had a log cabin with a pan of hot chocolate for everone that stopped. WOW I could have stayed all day just starting up old stuff and watching it run.
A orginal racer speedster joined up with us a the display.
Leaving there we traveled a few more miles into Eugene Indiana and stopped at Junkie Joes junk shop. He calls this the “J” mart because his grandfather was here before “K” mart….I think we all bought something. The rest room facilities were top notch, and I noticed no one stayed in there very long..
Lunch was at the Covered bridge where they boast 33 pies every day all different flavors…..got to go back there again .
All in all today was a 87 mile ride and we were really glad to see the A/C in the bus at the end of the day. Car is dirty and I am wore out from T-ing all day in the gravel.
    Tour day 3…….
Different route and another water crossing in the country heading to Wallace Indiana . A couple of our club members own two shops in Wallace and do nothing but Model T fords , pretty slick buildings and a huge collection of model T stuff. We had lunch at the Wallace Café called the Wallace Grand Old Opry with country music every sat night….Great food and a great place to see some real history. The T’s looked pretty cool down town Wallace sitting by the old buildings. I think we had 55 model Ts there at the same time. Could be a oil slick left in Wallace….
Back to the country roads ( better than yesterday) a few more towns and back home , wow 90 miles today but a very fun day. Had a few little mishaps with Jed and I installed a new set of spark plugs and tightened up the coils and conectors for tomorrow. Looks like rain and I parked him in the Goat shed at the fairgrounds to stay dry. ( No goats ).
Tomorrow is a little longer ride at 90 plus miles and lots of covered bridges etc…
    What a three days……

I spotted a couple of T's heading through Cayuga Sunday morning so I followed, figured they were headed for the Covered Bridge, saw a couple of cars at Junky Joes, haha, I stop in there all the time. A word of advice, next time wait till you get to the Covered Bridge to use the facilities. Saw a few cool speedsters at the restaurant but didn't have time to stop and chat as we were on the way to my 7 year olds football game.

WOW, day four was 93 miles. 8 covered bridges and 55 model T,s. Some great stops .
I hauled Jed back to Indy so i could pick up another trailer load for the Newport weekend.
Got a half day tour tomorrow and we will drive the speedster (Simple T 30G).
Got to move Bubbas to its next weekend parking spot at the Newport Hillclimb tomorrow afternoon. Back to Indy wed night and move another truck and trailer down thursday . We will finish all set up friday and we are set for the Newport Hillclimb weekend.
Wow been a whirlwind couple weeks.
