Does anyone have any information on Bud Elhart? All I know about the guy is that he made custom valve covers for Y-block in the mid to late 50's (56-57 I think)and they where advertised in Hot Rod Mag. Did he produce any other cool parts? and does anyone know who my have rights to his name/brand/logo? Or just any other info on this guy?

Pictured below is a set of his Y-block valve covers

  2. Nope don't know a thing about him although the name sounds familiar ( I have met a bunch of people over the years) but I would loike to meet him. If he produced those he is a skilled man. Those are nice, a little out of the ordinary but nice.

Pretty sure the correct spelling is Bud Ehlert, and that I once owned them. I bought them in 2002 from Red's Headers in Fort Bragg, Calif. in 2002 for my 57 Ford. Never used them, sold them a few years ago to a collector in Florida. I believe that's his engine/car in the picture. Casting on inside of the valve covers read Bud Ehlert, Los Angeles.
