Had the same unit in a '40 Ford P/U that I owned for several years. I bought the P/U as something to drive while I was finishing the woodie. Everything on the truck was built on the cheap including this air unit but I will say that it cooled the P/U just fine. The only downside was that it blew out right on your knees, my wife always kept a comforter or jacket over her knees even when it was over 100 degree weather. Had to do a couple of minor repairs on it during the time I owned it but simple to work on. Looked cheap but worked fine. As far as Southern Air goes, the woodie had one in it when I traded for it, I finally gave up on getting it to work and pitched it in the trash, utter junk. The case was warped so badly that air came out of every seam the PO had duct taped the seams hoping to fix the problem. Have several friends with VA units and never heard a complaint yet.
