Hey guys this is my first post I have a 65 skylark running the 225 nailhead with the dynaflow trans. I could snag a Buick 430 for a great deal, I was just wondering if anyone would know if my dynaflow trans will bolt up to the 430? Thanks everyone! Here's some pics of my car. 64 225 is a V6 not a nail head. The 430 may bolt up but will probably*****ter the trans the first time you floor it. The 430 and matching Turbo Hydramatic will fit in your car.

    Don't think the 225 trans will fit a 430.

Don't think you have a dynaflow trans in a 65. You say nailhead, but did you make a typo and it is a 425 instead of 225?

Does not really matter since the 430 uses the modern B-O-P-Cad bellhousing pattern, and it will not bolt up to a dynaflow trans anyway regardless what your engine is. Even if you have a real nailhead 425, the 65 has a ST400 trans, and it is unique nailhead bellhousing pattern. Again it won't fit your 430. A B-O-P-Cad turbo 400 will bolt up to your 430 and the complete combo can be put into your car as Rusty suggested.

He probably has the ST300 2 speed and thinks it is a Dynaflow! The good news is that the transmission will bolt up to the BOP 430. The bad news, it might not last long with 430. Use a switch pitch 400 from a 65-67 Oldsmobile or 67 Buick.

They made a 225 cu in V6 that was a sawed off 215 V8. So far as I recall this was an odd ball engine that did not share a transmission with the nail head or the later 65 up motors/

The 430 would be the 65 up design that used the BOP and Cadillac, TurboHydramatic.

Give T/A performance or Tri-Shield performance a call. Both are Buick guys that know their stuff. They can tell you what you've got, what will work, what won't and what you will need. Big block into early skylark swap has been done a ton.
