I am about to seperate some aluminum drums, are the rivets in the drums what hold the hub or is it studs or both. Any help would be great.

be sure when you press them out, you support the the aluminum very well, otherwise they tend to "tear" out of the aluminum.

I remember having to press the hub off even after I ground the rivets off. Mack's right, support the aluminum good, it will bend or tear if you dont. Sometimes when pressing the hub off the outside face of the drum could distort, making it wobble when you go to surface the drums.

    grind the rivit heads off...

knock the studs out with a ball peen

sometimes all it takes is a wack with a big hammer and the hub falls out...

if you have to press it out- like the guys above said be careful you dont bend/warp the top... and if you can support it, support it-
