Hi, can anyone tell me what is involved in mounting Buick finned drums onto 1949-54 Chevy, (or 53-62 Corvette) spindles? I want to be able to use the full 2.5" width of the Buick drums. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.
I don't think this has been touched on this board before. I would kinda like to know if anyone has done this too and whats involved. May give me a reason to get rid of the ugly disc (that my wheels don't clear) on my bell tube axle. Steve
Steve, I've been doing some searching on this site. You seem to know quite a bit about fitting Buick pieces. What I think I want to do is use the entire Buick setup, so I can get the full performance of the wider brake shoes. You, or others, may know how different in size the Chevy spindles are from the Buick's. Maybe some spindle and/or hub spacers can put this package together. Mark
TTT Hey, since its Tech Week.... Anybody know anything about matching Buick hubs to 49-54 Chevy spindles, or swapping Chevy Hubs onto Buick Drums. I'd like to be able to use a full 3" shoe in the front.
