Most anything can be adapted if you have enough equipment. Those backers are not the ones usually used. They could be. I have thought of making a welding jig to replace the centers so common backers will bolt to the Ford spindles. I really don't think it is a good idea. Wilson backers are the way to go. What you have are designed to have a support in the spindle for the top anchor. You will lose that and the area will have to be reinforced. The center is all wrong and the offset will have to be addressed. The backers could have the centers opened up and new spacer plates machined. It would cost more than just buying from Wilson. The Wilson backers can be easily modified using the common centering rings and the holes egged a little like when using 40 backers.By the way, I machine the Buick drums. See the sevices offered section

  2. Wilson makes the plates with either bolt pattern, no need to elongate the holes. I will end up getting some from him. Thanks for the input.

Here I am! Late to the game, as usual.

Any chance that there are any left? Another run?

I'd front for two sets if another fun would be required.

I just finished up installing the GREAT adapters that 29RAT supplied...'62 buick drums on my '31 tudor....all I had to do was cut 5/16 out of the back of the drums to clear the backplates...simple job on a brake lathe. This was the easiest upgrade I've done. THANKS to 29RAT

I'm a newcomer and late to the party....if 29RAT is still out there, is it possible that a set of these Buick to Ford spindle adapters can be had?
