I am trying to find a transmission for my '59 401 Nailhead, and I was wondering if the bolt pattern is a BPO?

Nope, it's specific to the Nailheads from 1957-1966....

I guess I could answer with a bit more detail. If you're trying to get away from the Dynaflow and the torque tube then you need a SP or ST 400 from a 64-66 Buick with a Nailhead. You'll need the flexplate and torque converter as well.. You'll also need to call

For the proper bushing for your crank and that tranny.
All in all not a bad swap, you can either enlarge the hole on the flexplate or grind down the crank to fit the flexplate, either way works though I'm a fan of working on the flexplate. As for the torque tube, what car is it in, that may help with that decision...
