Has anybody ever heard of or tried using springs from a '66 Chevelle to lower the rear of a '54 Buick? I've heard that using the stock height Chevelle springs will lower the rear of the car approx. 2 1/2". If I remember right it would have to be the front springs from the Chevelle as they had leafs in the rear. This should work though right just as long as the spring diameter is the same as the Buick springs?
nope 64 to 72 chevelle's had coil spring rears also, so probably the rear springs, and i think i herd something like that also.
78 and up G body rear springs, Monte Carlo and such will drop the rear of a Buick about 4" Wagon springs are stiffer, but still give the same drop. you have to modify the panhard bar to get the rear centered again.
I have springs from a eighties wv pickup in rear of my -53, Makes it as low as it can be without framework...
Speaking of the panhard bar, will it need to be modified if I'm only lowering the car 2 1/2"? I have to ask the seemingly dumb questions because I'm new to working on suspension stuff. If it does need to be modified what needs to be done?
