I have a blown aluminum V8 incorporating both Buick and Rover parts. I want to install this motor in a model A coupe for which I most everything including a super T-10. Rules for virtually every organization state that I need a ****ter shield which I totally agree. This is probably directed at our friends in Europe and Australia where the use of this motor is more common but please, I will take help from anyone. Does anyone know of an available ****ter shield for the Buick 215/Rover 3.5-4.6?
    Thanks

Don’t know your room. But I’ve built 4, all were split to remove the bottom. 3/16” wrap around 4” wide with tabs welded for the attaching. I used studs to hold the bellhousing on the slipped the tabs over and used nuts. On the to half I welded “pie and flat” pieces down toward the transmission. I drilled holes in it to get to the nuts. I race at Bonneville under SCTA rules and all my made shields p*** inspection.

What jimmy built are true ****ter shields. Most if not all aftermarket "shields" today are "blow-proof" bell housings like those from Lakewood and QuickTime.

I probably should have said "blow proof bell housing/****ter shield". I am open to any and all ideas. I would like to find a direct bolt in of either type, but I'm not averse to fabbing one. I am sure that Lakewood or any of the other manufacturers make have long discontinued any units for this application. I appreciate Jimmy's input as this engine was used extensively back in the 60s in both drag racing and on the salt.

I can’t see the back pattern. Is it a BOP? McCleod makes one for those that bolted to a OHC Pontiac 6.

B-O-P pattern and Pontiac OHC-6 both have different bellhousing bolt patterns compared to the unique Buick/Olds 215 and Rover V8 "dog eared" pattern:

I don't think I have come across any blow-proof BHs, but a call to D&D might get you a lead: http://aluminumv8.com/Home/Contact

It looks like you have an adapter to bolt up a T10? then all you need is a T10 shield from Lakewood? or am I misunderstanding something?

Thanks for the pictures Pink. The bolt pattern cir***ference on the 215 is quite a bit smaller then the BOP or most any other GM. I haven't talked to Mark at D&D but will call him Monday. It looks like the ****ter shield as described by Jimmy Six will be the way to go.
