Okay I need some help on this one. My 52 specials got the stock 263 str8 in it. I found a duece carb/intake manifold setup in a yard that was factory installed on a 1940 special. Or so I was told anyway. I thought they only ran the duece setups on the 320s, but this sure looks factory to me. I know the 40 specials had 248s in them until 1950 when they adapted the 263s. I think the head castings were pretty much the same dimensionally for the smaller motors up until 1953, but I'm not 100%. Does anyone know if this set up will bolt to my motor, or did the manifold dimensions change?
It should bolt right on, and it probobly has a split exhaust also if its still there, it should bolt right on too, but ive heard something about clearence problems at the enginemount but i think its pretty easy to fix...
They were optional on both engines in 41-2 only. Here is one from a 41 Special I picked up a few months ago.
I have a set of really nice exhaust manifolds if any of you guys needs a set with the y-pipe. The heat risers work great. I had built a 3x1 for my 53 but never got to put it on.You have to turn the left motor mount up-side down and fab a brace for the bottom. Really simple when you look at it. It took me about 45 minutes to build it.TP
Thanks Unkl... But I did have this set and sold them to SwitchbladeTeeth For his ride don't know if he used them. Here are some old Buick post from here. http://woodgraining.com/HAMB/ I'm looking for a small Edmunds Set up. And guess I'll try and fab some heades for mine. Like on Jyrki Pykäri's Site Jdee
