Did Buick use identical uprights from 1937 to 1956? So I been told. The reason I ask is that I found a pair from a 1955 Buick and I want to confirm that I can use them on my 41.
By "uprights," are you referring to the spindles? If so, I don't know how far back they go, but the '54/'55 spindles are interchangeable with eachother, and the '56 spindles were redesigned to have a little more caster built into them for better cornering, and will bolt to the '54/'55 cars. -Brad
not to confuse matters, but fatman fab sells dropped uprights as 37-56. so far it seems that they may be the same, from 41-53 at least.
Yeah, I see that too on Fatmans site. Did somebody know whats different to 55-56 compare to the earlier ones.
im just guessing here, but educationally, i know Chevy went from king pin to ball joints that year, maybe Buick did to therefore different upright/spindles required for 55+
Buick uses the kingpin style up to 1956 and ball joints from 1957. But they seams to change the design from 54 and up according to previous posts. I wonder what they change besides the retirement of the knee action shocks and going to regular ones. I know a pair of dropped uprights for the right kind of money but they sits on a 55. That's the reason for my investigation
