Here's a questain. My Vic is probabaly 80% new metal + repop fenders. At what point does a car like this become a reproduction and not a Ford? ( I look at it as I just made extra large patch panels!) Still I wonder if I'm out of line calling it a real Duece.

man with the work you do, its REAL... as long as you start with real stuff and replace what was not there or was rotted... its just like saying you have a 32 that was in a bad wreck in 1955, and they redid all of one side by hand, its still a real 32 (although we all know they woulda just junked it back then)

It takes some mad skills to pull this off. Pete Flaven did a 33 3 window coupe that was in teh last Mag-neto calendar. I would love to have those skills.

That's like the ax that's been in the family for over 120 years. Grandad gives it to the grandson and says "This is a very special ax. We've had it in our family for 120 years. I'm passing it on to you. It's served us well, take good care of it."
Grandson says "Really? It's in great condition for being 120 years old!"
Grandad says "Well, we've taken good care of it. Back in 1903, 1936 and 1974 we put a new head on it, and we've replaced the handle about 8 or 10 times."

You restored a Vic...go ahead and call it a Vic! do you REALLY think anyone is going to yelp about how much you repaired a 70 year old body?

I would definitely have to agree, your Vic is definitely a REAL 32! With all that hard work you put into it and gennie deuce parts, it deserves it! :D

OK, thanks, I'll call this one a real Duece, but not a real Vicky.

  7. There's a dude with a '34 Cabriolet for sale that could use a guy with the vision some of you folks have. I just had a price reduction passed on to me on it; not enough the flamers will be pacified, but almost enough the difference would buy repop quarters.

In my opinion if the car has 80% patch panels its still a real 32, 33 ,34 what ever as long as it stays what the body was. If i were out to buy a 32 vicky, i sure would make sure i am buying a real 32 vicky and not one made from a tudor. Im all for piecing cars together. I have a 34 5w coupe body made out of 7 different cars, but its all coupe pieces and my 32 5window is being pieced together as well. Im not knocking anyones work, that 32 vicky is awesome. Im just voicing my opinion :)

Eberhama, you seen it up close huh?? Is it better than I think it is?? LOL!!! The bottom of the car is real solid lookin and I think I got a fair deal so it will work out. I could use the front of the right quarter from the Tudor to fix this.

Just in case I wasn't being clear, I havn't nor will I ever try to pass it off as a real Vicky, I tell everyone I converted a Tudor. Besides anyone that really knows 32 Vics will know, I'm close but thing like the B-piller and rear window are not correct. Just that when I realized I needed to build the whole back and both the owner and I love Vics, we thought "why not?" I guess that's what prompted my questain, since I know it's not a real Vic is it not a "real" car .
