My buddy Joe came up with this idea and I’m down for it. But we’re looking for some help.

What we’d like to do is build a car to auction off and give to proceeds to http://www.olivecrest.org. These kids have been handed a bum deal and we’d like to show them that there are people out there who care... even complete strangers.

We’d like to have some input.. we can’t do this alone. We’re gonna show the build here on the HAMB... every step. When its done, we’d like to have a BBQ/car show for these kids and let em (hopefully) gain some appreciation for vintage tin..

We’re going to need some parts. Hell, we need everything. I’m donating the frame and my time to build this. Wanna help? We’re gonna need:

a body (last resort will be a gl*** t. but something steel would be nice)
    suspension components
    engine/trans/rearend
    tires
    someone to paint it
    someone to upholster it
someone to do a rendering once we’ve figured out what the hell we’re doing
magazine guys to jump on the bandwagon and promise me some ink. We wanna make this HUGE.
add to this... whatever you can think of!

We want this to be a car built by HAMB’ers. Either hands on, donation of parts, or cash to help us reach our goal. ANY type of donation gets your name on the car somewhere.

What do you guys think? What should we build? Its gotta be nice, reliable and SAFE....

Are we nuts? Probably. Look, I don't have the cash to help these kids out but what I do have is a skill that I want to donate.

What would YOU be willing to do to help?

We’re going to make this happen.

    Thanks
    Joe and Jason

I'm an artist as well as an author...I make my living doing art, T-shirts, concepts and renderings...I'll volunteer to do the rendering whenever you figure out what you're building and the color.

I was about to say I could do the body & paint, but then I saw your in so-cal. That kinda makes things difficult! If something could be worked out though I'd be extremely willing to make it *****in'!

Could you "tech" the build? That would be great and if you need any thing parts wise I can ask around.

I'd be willing to help by giving some parts if I got anything worth while. Let me see what I got that I can spare.

I will throw in a set of our cnc cut and powder coated, flamed wire looms and a flamed 14" air cleaner (or duels) once you get the body and motor. Also if you go with an early car (t-bucket through 32 or so) I will be happy to cut a custom grill with the charitys name/logo in it.

I want to help. I will buy & print T-shirts for the kids and people involved, maybe one of the art guys here on the board can do some artwork for it.
I can also shoot photos for a Tech post.

I'll help out however I can. If you get parts donated from any GMB's I can organizing and donate the shipping of these items. Perhaps I can bake and auction off a HUGE batch of cookies with the proceeds going to help with your costs. Whatever I can do to help I'm down for.

Thanks guys, we really appreciate all the offers.

    so far we've got:

    Mr. Jetter for a rendering
    Donnie for some paintin
Mr and Mrs Kali :)D ) for some t-shirt or poster artwork
    Mike for some printing
Denise for some cookies... I was hoping for that one!

and a bunch of parts offers...

Guess we need to figure out exactly what we're going to build? My thoughts went from easy to way complex builds last night....

    Jason,
I have enough pieces to put a 29 open modified body together. I will donate the body pieces and we can fab a back panel and floor. This will have a 31 firewall like metalshapes. We can also fab the cowl top. I have the A pillars, we can slim them down to act as winsheild posts. I can also toss in a complete 57-63 chev rearend. Sound good?

I want to help but I have no vintage parts and even less cash.

I do have access to 250 performance aftermarket companies that I sell at work. Depending on the build, I might be able to talk MSD out of a distributor or Painless Wiring out of a harness.

I got 2 chevy strait sixes, 292 or 194, and a Powerglide trans I'll donate.

Probably both need rebuilt, I can take care of the motor if someone else can do the trans.

If anyone has speed parts to do the motor, let me know.

  24. I've got no parts, no brains, and even less cash, but I'll help out if I can.

I do have access to a large format photo quality plotter if you want a huge poster or 2 to auction off once a rendering gets done.

why dont we print some posters and t-shirts to sell here and elsewhere to raise any money we will need for the car and give the rest to the charity with the money from the car?
