This is a great thread, and a perfect example of a top shelf working man's HAMB upgrade.
You started out with a cool driver, and over time upgraded it to not only your personal tastes, but to an awesome truck.
Kudo's to you.... I really like it.

  2. The Merc stuff was a great idea. I didn't think those valve covers could be rescued from the state they were in. Nice work all the way around.

  3. Thanks guys!

Haven't done too much more in the last week or so. The amazing weather has finally changed to winter here and had my daughter for the first time for Christmas in 16 years.

Need to do some interior work - reupholster seat, shifter boot, rubber floor mat, etc.

I'll post updates as I move on.

  4. No huge advancements to speak of, but I did get the rubber floor mat installed. The Lokar trim plate is a big black billet piece so I decided to keep it under the floor mat:

And since the floor was now weather friendly I decided to take it out in the snow (not that we have a lot):

Somehow I've been missing this thread. Really great attention to details and that's a really nice shop that you've got.

  7. It has a 2" dropped axle and the first and third leaves removed from the spring pack.

  8. Thanks Drewski. The shop isn't mine it belongs to Hot Rod Packard.

Hello! I just came across this thread and really like the way your truck turned out. Where did you get the Mercury Step Plates? They look brand new. I would love to get my hands on a pair of those. Thanks for any info.

  10. Someone cast them for me in 2011. As far as I know he is no longer doing it.

A couple of things come to mind as I read the thread. I was bummed you pulled the six and put in a sbc but oh well. Second all the work you did to get the correct ride height and I noticed you didn't center the front wheels in the fender. Those early fords all had weird wheel placements. I centered mine when I got the new leafs put in. Just moved the leaf center bolts 11/2 inch. Made a huge difference in ride and the wheel looks centered. Here's my 54
