I looked through the tech archives and did a couple of searches for a how to on a body rotisserrie (sp?). Has there been a post on this? How many of you have built your own? What are some does and donts? I have searched the web and picked up ideas from commercially sold units.

    I built this one-
I just eyeballed a few on the market and started to make my own.

Heres a couple pics. I've seen some cool designs since and I would probably buy my next one- but honestly this thing works perfect. I made just about everything adjustible so you could tune it in.

I used it to put new floors in this plymouth- made new rockers/inner and outer/ with new steel everywhere. I can't imagine life before a roto now... those gray lines are seam sealer before I laid down primer.

I added a before and after pic---

Tuck, how high do you have the car to attach the ends? When you say tune, does that mean the center of gravity so that it spins easy? And one more question, are the piviots tube in tube or do you run a bearing?

I made this other part... it lifts the body up on a huge A frame hoist... and I made that too...

Heres some pics... they were from last FALL before I started to finish off the shop. I needed to get Tuck Equipped...

its pretty easy to adjust I just tilt it sideways and loosen the nutz and hit it one way or another with a BFH, thats tuneing it.

Tuck, nice pics, nice equipment. I see in the last pics that it looks like you have enough adjustablity to hook up the ends with the car pretty low.
    Thanks again

i think they make some that the center section is adjustible so you can jack it up on each end from a low position... that would be nice for working on it so you could drop it down when in position.

the center bar is very nesassary and is adjustible too- keeps it from putting a ton of stress on the body.
