Just got my copy of the movie "The Lively Set" from http://www.hotrodmemories.com/default.php and was wondering who had information on the hotrods featured in the film? I'm particularly interested in the 409 powered Roadster. Who built this car and are there any Magazine articles regarding the build-up??? Mark
I believe that car is the former Eddie Dye Roadster, minus the cool track nose and many other details. It was featured in one of the first issues of Hop Up. Somewhere along the line it got changed up considerably, and was used in "The Lively Set." It was found, rebuilt, and painted yellow a while back by Tom Branch, who sold it to Don Orosco, who is restoring it to its configuration as originally owned by Eddie Dye. I think the restoration is supposed to be almost done. There was a feature on the car a few years back when Tom Branch owned it in Street Rodder Magazine as well. And if you have the Hop Up Annuals, it's talked about in a couple of those too.
