  3. I just searched the pay it forward area of the Hamb,,,,I didn’t see any recent listings for any blocks .

I currently don’t need any,,,,,and they are not my preferred brand,,,,,,but I’m certain someone here could use them if advertised.
Beats scrapping them at least ,,,lol .

It all goes back to trying to help our young guys that are coming up,,,everyone can use a helping hand occasionally.
    Thanks anyway.

I kinda tire of this phrase (nothing against you) but the last thing I think about doing when working on something, is to take a pic/video.
Just my t thoughts, but not really aimed at you:)

That’s ok, I’m a big boy, I can take criticism. Your right, last thing I’d be thinking of also, but I REALLY wanna see video!

Video... says upload file too large... I'll take a shorter startup on Sunday..and upload.

    Keith Dorton 500cfms.
    Equal to a 750dp if 4bbl.
    Edelbrock TR1X Tunnelram.
    Comp Cams. 0.555 lift solid.
    1.5 crane rockers.
TRW 12:1@64cc, but. Heads opened to 68cc.
461 cyl heads, ported back in 1975.
    5.7 Rods.
Steel S.J. crank with milodon spacer MBs.

I disagree. A little video is what the internet is now about. Pics or video brought us out of the dark ages and into the light. I'd rather watch 20 cars go by then look at 20 sitting in a parking lot. But that's just me. Like saying I own a Rolex. Seeing the picture, you might just think I do.
    I don't.
    IMG_4077.JPG
Yes, it's a real Rolex. It belongs to a buddy, a watch and clock guy down in Corpus Christi.
Interesting point, it has got those Geiger counter clicking glow in the dark paint markings.
But I can say I own it, like saying I own a 302.
Hearing someone say they saw Big Foot you ask, is that a reliable trusted source. Seeing a picture of them with Big Foot, almost solid proof. Show a movie of you and Big Foot and people believe.
While it a real Rolex, a video of its movement would reveal that truth.

Will be running previous engine capture video, edit on computer.

Next project a 302 s.j. flat top with DHC heads.
Donated to a build that did not happen. Got it back last weekend.

O.K. just to join the party here...here are pictures of one of my 302", SJ, 327"'s I've done. Do them right,
new rods, forged 283" 10/10 crank, 2.02 heads and high rise, DZ winters intake. You won't ever be disappointed.
Just sold one to a guy in FL which was on my "to-do" stand for 10yrs., plus installed one in my '62 Nova and
my '65 Malibu. Also in several OT cars, '71, '68.

Also found out recently DSS makes all the small cube pistons. Forged, USA, 283,302,307,327. And others.

They make the flat top 302s I was looking for.
Not cheap, but I'll pay for quality.

Have not checked with CP Carillo.

Just read this.... haha. Wish you were closer, sold a fresh 0.030 LJ 302, 69 block, pink rods, crank $300 just to make room. Have some BBC parts at bargain deal price, want it gone. BBC project did not materialize. L88 crank, 454 block, Lunati solid cam kit, 781 heads, NOS LS7 crank, LS7 pistons. Bring that watch... wonder if it picks up radon.

Matter of fact, you drive here from MB, Alberta Canada, with your ID... I'll give you the BBC parts. Fuel / time is not free. NO JOKE.

Sbc block going on stand, big block "demoted to barn" duty, tired of looking at it.

Firing 302 today, switched dist wires, charging battery. Test ex resonators.

Interesting induction set-up. Are the 2 barrel's just a break-in set-up or is it a proven performer? Also curious why the 2 air cleaner's are tied together. Is it a balance thing?

I was playing with 2bbls, they seem to work well. These are Keith Dorton 500s, always seem to run good. Easy to work on as well. Been sitting for a year, still had fuel in them, started right up. My Edel 1405s. Can't sit a month, hard starting. 2x is like having a split 750cfm 4bbl.

On my wagon, 2 2bbls ran faster than 2 4bbl 1405s on mild 327. Few tenths, 2 mph.

The top is where I ran crankcase vapor on a few occasions instead of carb. Nothing fancy, just a way to dump vapor in on street. "And ruin chrome air cleaner lids". :)

We need to get past the whole discussion relating to the math minutiae part and focus on the engine for what it is and in case some don't get all the hoopla surrounding these engines, just build one and report back and tell us how far you got on your first drive before you had to go back home and change your shorts!
No 10/1 compression and hydraulic lifter 302's either, and no automatics!

When looking for cranks, remember flywheel wheel flange note, 302s have 1 notch, 283s are round. I've seen the 302s in truck engines, military. Twice in past 6mo on Craig's list, I've seen 302 cranks in 283s being sold at core prices.

I would agree with those advocating for the shorter rod. With a shorter rod the piston will get yanked down the cylinder faster thereby giving better cylinder fill. As one poster stated, focus on good cylinder heads, not too big but big enough to benefit the cubic inch/chosen camshaft/rpm potential of the engine and it’s intended use.

The eng on run stand, is 302 built using S.J. crank and Milodon spacer main bearings for L.J. block.

This one has 283 steel std/std for use with sp main bearings.

    In Process Pic.
