I need a source for upper and lower 32 brass tanks with dual necks to convert A rad to v8. With all the repos out there someome is making the tanks. Don't want to spend the 500 or so on a repo, when I have several 30-31 radiators. The lower tanks on A's are tapered- not much room for a second lower neck. How have you solved the problem?
I thought Model A radiators were kind of sketchy to cool even a modified 4-banger let alone a V8. Didn't I hear that they don't like being pressurized for one thing?
Do yourself a big favor and don't use an A radiator. If its a flathead your out of luck and if its any other V8 it won't cool right either. The only thing it might work on is a small 4 cylinder, and then you won't be pressured, its just not worth it.--TV
It's for a V8 60. And all my radiators I use are 4 row tube 10 fin cores here in Texas. A stock A radiator will not cool an A (maybe in Canada) which I am aware of. Just need the tank leads. Will solder them on myself. This forum is for DIYers right????
4port, I misunderstood. you can buy the top and bottom tanks from a man in calif. He makes them himself at home. His name is Ralph and you can call him at 562-866-3108,nice guy ,good prices.--TV
I remember hearing something K members dad said about K's coupe having a model a radiator, modified for pressure. Cools a 460.... Could be wrong though.
