I've the control thingy you have, but not the deluxe heater, I do have the speaker and radio though, but ran out of tubes years ago. Thinking I'll get the radio just redone for AM in modern works, something about listening to a ball game on a little speaker is cool.

My dash is uncut too, my dad's words rang through my head (he bought the '57 new) about cut dashes in these trucks. I passed on so many "deals", because of a hacked up dash. Seems "they" always went after the dash with a wobbly sawzall blade and covered it up...lol.

PS...love that pic with the black widow webs and eggs, standard issue to pull wheels around here that have been on for a bit, is a mapp/butane torch...make quick work of them:)

  3. I'm not sure what they were, other than dead... ha ha
I've had a couple of these trucks with a big square Kraco stereo in the dash, this one I'm going to get one of those ones that look stock but are modern, my son will have to help me get my music together for it or get one with a CD player, I know how to operate that.

  4. I ran across this meme on the interweb and man did it make me laugh, this truck was advertised as having a 350, but once it arrived and I ran the numbers it turned out to be a 307 wha wha wha

  5. Getting bored listening to Corona virus so I decided to pull the stock seat out today, I have never seen anything like this in my life, the whole bottom cushion is one big ass HORNETS nest !
Can you imagine sitting on this thing when those bastards were home, holy moly !

Then I test fit the new seat which is a 88-94 GM truck, it fits great, feels great and I look right out the middle of the windshield, win win.

  7. No shit, especially trapped in the cab with them, maybe I should change the name to the insect intruder with all the spiders that were in the wheels and brakes, now this.

  12. Only 2 companies that make the oval faced radios, one was around $500 but looked totally stock. The one I got was less and needed some aid to look more stock (but still has a digital display when on). There are some companies to convert a stock radio to modern guts, but again around $500 and you can find the boards to do it yourself....$400. The one I chose has a hands free set up so I don't get a ticket. Get an old cheap iPod, load your music on it, run a cable into the glove box and listen.

Here's a place that has one to fit the original hole, I'm not much on the look of it though.

Man I would love to find a nice seat like that, all the ones I've seen are torn, stained and ratty.

  17. I heard they were cheap plastic face and knobs ?

  18. That ought to work and would probably even hide under the hood?

  19. I seen one on the net that was under the hood, I'm sticking with the crossram though, but also keeping that 6-71 on the left as a backup plan for something.
Hey maybe I'll stick it on the 307 and possibly make 350 hp...ha ha ha

  20. The face is chromed plastic and the face is rectangular. I painted the inside of the bezel black and used a cling on the face, so it looks more stock like when off, but is digital when on (noticeable at night, but can change colors and brightness). The knobs are the current chromed die cast knobs, I had mine powder coated semi gloss black.

  26. That's to low for me, I've never been a fan of the rockers on the ground thing, probably because you have to have those skinny inset tires so the fenders clear.
I'll stick with my current useable stance, not so low that I can't put a load of crap in the back but low enough to not be mistaken for stock. That's called setting the hook, let's people know there's something going on with this one without a big billboard saying so, draws them in to check and see what else it is.

WELL!!!!!!.....I didn't mean 'identical' to this one, just steal enough of his ideas to make your truck work (like how he moved the fenders ^up on the body to give it a lowwwwer look) ....stuff like that.
