Art and Gary both had blowers and Don didn’t as every one knows. I know it was many years ago and I was talking to Gary at a SCTA meet about his early days drag racing. He laughed about beating Don and it was probably during elimination rounds. Gary had a lot of stories and he enjoyed telling them. I was only 14 at that time and could only read about them. Being friends with Gary up until his end was a real treat for me as he had lived the dream of a kid like me.

    She's real fine......
We built a 348 Tri-power Bantam roadster in high school. I had a 409 with a M/T dual quad cross ram on it. I ran 600 cfm vac secondary Holleys on it.
    Run the Stromberg 48 for some more air. 48 @ 180CFM vs 97 @ 155CFM. 1440 cfm with 8 of them.

Got back from a wild time of racing at the Estranged car club vintage drags at Toutle, Washington. Marty it was great to meet you in person. 113 hot rods came and put on quite a show. Lots of model As, with flatheads and four bangers. We had a great time and the last run against Rock's twin engine dragster we broke the ring, took off four teeth. I'll try to get some pictures up.

Lining up with the twin engine dragster. That is when the ring broke off four teeth.

Anyone have a 37-9 ring and pinion, for a 1935 to 38 Ford? 6 spine pinion and 3 13/16" center section.

Garlits ran a blown car at Colton the week before Bakersfield. As I understand it, he was obligated not to run a California strip before Bakersfield. The blown car at Colton was owned by Setto Postonian (sp?).
