When I started trying to building Model A's I didn't have the scratch to flip open a catalog and buy the parts I needed, the fact is there wasn't too many parts available to build hot rods here in the Sunny South, the Saturday morning trips to the local junk yard was were I found my parts.

We used a lot of parts that today would be considered far from being traditional or period perfect, but some how we built our cars.

Using whatever would work, I remember trying to figure what I could use for steering with my corvair front suspension, I ended up using a colt (remember them?) reverse rack & pinion, it worked great but how could I connect it to my shortened caprice steering column.

This turned into a head scratcher, after helping a friend work on his Mom's Pinto I saw something I was going to try.

This is a flex shaft, easy to bend and avoid the headers.

What junk yard parts have you guys used building hot rods and Customs. HRP
