Some guys here get a break on transmissions and rear axles. Some get ragged about period correct. Post your build and let us see it. Nothing wrong with a AA frame and AAs had duallies. If something doesn't fit here crop it out of the pictures and don't talk about it.

I like the off topic forum, good place to learn new stuff because they havnt got to omit anything that’s not exactly in line with the main board.

either way back to roadstering in San Francisco, hopefully you gained some elbow room in the new garage Joey!

    Sounds like a life progression.
I hope this is all as planned and you are thrilled with where it's leading.
We don't need to know more personal stuff.
I will miss the old garage, but expect you will make the new digs homey (garagey?:)). Hope the new one has a bit more space and power.
I'd imagine there will be at least one or two trips back to the old place to provide promised rides.

EDIT: dang Joey, you were so proud of finally cleaning the whitewalls, and now slipped up and showed that it was only for the driver's side pics! :D;)

That Sucks, I guess this means we need to put anything with a SBC or Tremic 5 speed or turbo 350 or turbo 400 in the same category I guess that leaves out cars with open drive lines with 9in. Ford rear ends. Because It’s not in the cutoff date.

I agree this thread should stay where it was. I not bitchin just marking a observation. it’s Ok to change rear ends I didn’t see any restrictions on what you use the same with brakes

I was just saying some guys here get more latitude than others especially with drive train.

Joey, Leave the blue on the passenger side tires and paint the body red. Call it Old Glory. Buy a Hawaiian shirt and a lawn chair for future use.

No car post for tonight, but here is a parting shot from the Loyola Terrace garage. It's hard to put into words all that I've learned here, but the best part is that we have 160-some pages of build thread to look back on. I plan to write about the LT experience in a more in-depth fashion at a later date. Tonight, I'm exhausted—and excited for the future. Oh, and see that fiddle leaf fig? That's been my other project. It's in a similar stage of the build as my A-V8.

As I was cleaning the house, I found the original floorplan for the garage. It didn't stay like that for long, that's for sure.

I was going to ask if that was a Triffid?
Looking forward to watching the adventure unfold!

Thank you so much. Loyola Terrace will always be the home of this car, although I have a feeling that its next chapter will be an exciting one too.

Thank you, Dennis. Love that artwork. Here's to new beginnings!

Moving a project is never easy. That's why I tried to have as much of it bolted together as I possibly could prior to packing it up. Best of luck on your project!

I'm off to the Richmond! Door to door, I'm about two miles to the west. You'll have to come on by once I'm all set up.

For sure. Plans are already in place for the paint party.

Yes, the new garage is 26 feet deep and nine feet wide with about 10-foot ceilings. I need a couple of weekends to get everything organized.

Thank you! Yep, this was all part of the plan. It's hard to imagine how many hours I've spent in the old garage, but I can't wait to do the same all over again. Built in 1956, my new building has a lot in common with the roadster. Just like Loyola fit the banger's aesthetic, this building will be just right for Version 2.0. But more on that later.

Hahah I had to look that one up!

As a Bay Area Pun-Off veteran, I do love a good pun. I can't wait to FERN-ish my new home—and garage—with lots of mid-century treasures.

Couldn't do it without you! Gear up for more action later this summer.

No real updates other than I ordered some dash accoutrements from Joe at All Show No Go Garage. I have a few more parts to order, then it's time to get the garage organized and get back into gear on this project.

And, since I'm back in Michigan as I type this, here's a local decal.

I think this photo is a good reminder that you don't need a ton of tools or space to work on an old jalopy if you have determination and the presence of mine to plan ahead.

Personally, I got into early Fords because my parents' garage wasn't big enough to fit my muscle car. However, I fell victim to the chase for more space, and now in my late 30's simply have too much. Anyways, a rant for another day.

Agreed. And I got into bikes because I couldn't afford a place to fit an early Ford!

Nothing new to report other than here's a cross-post from this week's Jalopy Journal column.

Hey, that's not the teaser Joey we all know!
Sure you had to pack and move in a city that's not known for ease of traffic. Sure you have a whole garage full of stuff to try to arrange to fit the new digs. Sure it's the busy season for the wandering car covering photojournalist. You have built and rebuilt a bitchin' rod and it's a week or two of work from it's first test drive in it's new guise. Nothing new, sheesh!

Give him a break, J.Ukrop is running around like his hair is on fire trying to cover as many shows around the country and write reviews of them and then posting on the H.A.M.B. plus pictures and still finds time to work on his own projects. I personally applaud him for all his efforts to keep us informed. Frank

Frank, I wrote that with tongue firmly in cheek.
I tried to convey he's very busy. Sorry that wasn't clear.

I totally understand that’s the same thing I was trying to say. He is busier than a one legged man at a ass kicking contest, or a one arm wall paper hanger.

For those of you who may have thought I had packed up the tools and given up on the project, I'm here—far too late at night—to assure you that's not the case. I just got back from my Midwestern summer travels, and I'm finally focusing on the move-in process. Here's a sneak peek at the latest from the new garage. IMG_1440.jpg
Plus a snapshot of the finalized dash insert. Time to wire it all up!
