Thanks for the photo. That is a nice color. I have never seen that style of wheel on the left.

 

The tail is ready for paint. Primered and guide coat. The side panels are done also. Been trying to find someone who has the wider C A E hood mold. Speedway does not have that mold. I guess I will have to build an aluminum hood. The battery is mounted. Doing a fuel tank now. Hand clutch and brake pedal this week.

 

Thanks again Dennis, for the Tobias tube adapters. This car’s rear axle looks like it has similar features. I’ll plaigerize anything and anyone. Imitation being the best form of flattery…

 

Throttle linkage. I started with a firewall mounted late model stock car bell crank bracket. Picture 8. Upper right black bracket & plate to build the bell crank on the bench. Cut down to fit narrow frame. Engine compartment a very tight fit too. Mounted the battery. Built & mounted a fuel tank. Built the hand clutch & brake pedal.

Going to use a L F brake. Mounted a real nice Halibrand single puck caliper in stock. Again computer problem down loading pictures.

 

The tail and side panels are ready for paint! I ran want ads for almost a year. No one has the mold for the C A E supermodified hood. I purchased a Speedway Motors C A E sprint car hood and widened it 3.5" and also MANY hours in it to fit the radius of the nose. Cut the opening for the injector stacks next then fill primer & paint.

 

Howe Ent. has several cores to choose from. They have built quite a few radiators. for me. They build radiators for me using my drawings. 40 years out of the race car business and they still give me dealer price. Mount and fan shroud next. Guide coat and sand hood one more time. Will paint A J Foyt red/orange. Number. Large white D with # 14 inside.

 

Is Arizona Beige a specific manufacturers colour? Killer build, love thos sort of stuff.

About late 1960's early 1970's A J painted his Indy car 1970 Mercury compe***ion red [ Looks orange to me ] I got the idea for " Killer " from those cars. A very large A with # 14 in the middle. Misserable Window11 won't let me see my pictures. Just BLACK. ?????? I used a large D. # 14 inside. Very small FRC.

Found picture somewhere else . I masked off the tail scallops this AM. 6-25-26.. Hood scallops next week. Building 406 S B C. Crane cam. Holley aluminum heads.

 

Just need to diss-***emble for final welding. Concentrating now on fabricating the last 2 aluminum body parts for the offset sprint car car body. Nose is almost done. Then the hood.
