I'm sure if you look under most hot rod dash's you'll see bird nests!
I like your fold down relay mount!

Pretty amazing how after putting Kilmat inside the quarter panels, shutting the door sounds solid - before, it sounded like beatumg on an empty steel drum

    Scott,
When I got my car it had a Glide seat with adjustable seat back, flip-up bottom and seat sliders.
At 5'7" I was a bit cramped. I ended up removing the sliders and seat back adjuster and still had my upholster remove some foam from both the seat back and bottom. He said "you can never sit too low in a roadster". I finally got it quite comfortable. I did raise the front of the seat about 1 1/2" and added about 1" foam to the lumbar area to be more comfortable on long drives. You're pretty tall so try to get as comfortable as possible now rather than later.

Thanks...I took this advice from the beginning and chopped-up an S-10 seat to customize it for my size. The "ass surface" is about 9" from the floor with no compression. I also slightly tucked it under the lip of the panel forward of the trunk lid to get the "back surface" as far rearward as possible. I just have to upholster everything now.

First time I came across your build thread. I'd like to say you not only did an excellent job building your car, but an excellent job documenting how and why you did it. Thank You.............;)

    Nice work !!
The most discouraging thing not to be negative is when you check all your circuits ,relays, gauges ,sensors etc. & tested.
Its all tidy, (heat shrink ,zipped tied , soldered, Then you have a problem
after start up ,driving & have to undo your work especially under the dash.

@SDS did you figure out why your door handles were dropped down? Mine have the same problem. How did you get the hinge pins to go in past the knurled section at the top? Thank you

    Yeah, yeah, yeah ...
I've spent three or four hours over the past 2 days trying to debug the electrical system- went ahead and removed all of the zip ties on the troubled circuits, so now it's a super mess under the dashboard

My door handles drooped because they are not properly clocked... Not sure if it's the mechanism in the door or the handle itself, but as others have mentioned, the fix is to remove the shaft and twist it in a vise.
As far as the hinge pins, I haven't gotten that far yet, but I'm planning to put a block of hardwood on both sides of the hinge and squeeze it with a 4 or 5-in c-clamp.

Thank you, did you figure out the dovetails and the door rubbers? Looks like the rubbers need to be sanded down. Is there enough material in the door to tap the holes for the male dovetails?

Yes, I did sand down the rubber bumpers for the doors with a flat disc on a 4 and 1/2-in grinder... I had to shave close to a quarter of an inch off of a few of them.
My body is a Brookville body and had quarter inch thick steel underneath where the dovetails bolt on- I drilled and tapped them after I got them positioned properly.

Thank you, I was hoping they put some thicker metal in there.

Fired it up last night, air got trapped in the Zipper riser and it over-heated. bled the air out and it was fine. Cam seemed to break in just fine. 180 thermostat, I think I may need to get the fan closer to the radiator with a spacer and may need a fan shroud.

Some Zipps have a bleed some do not , if not drill tap top of riser , air still trapped ,& found agood way is to use one of those funnels that attach to neck of Radator start up let run for 5-20 mints , it will burp all air out , or a vacuum fill Im always changing power plants
I run the fan 1/4 to 1/2 from core.

I got the Lokar low profile, emergency brake and all the cabling installed this weekend. Took the car down off the wheel dollies and proceeded to put it in gear- not enough transmission fluid in it, duh. Have a few more minor things to do, including putting the hood on for good, then I'll start on the interior. PXL_20231112_232156605.jpg PXL_20231112_231340284.jpg PXL_20231112_231346654.jpg

Just saying ,,, Never built a 32 , But you did with Many Questions !
"" If Not free, the alignment ""
No fender's , Easy to set alignment
30 mints or less , front with tape & straight edge, floor ... to Square , sting & little more time 30ish mints ..
Would of been easer to set b4 Rad was installed ,

Was a beautiful New Hampshire day today , so I took it for a little spin today before we loaded it on the flatbed... I am certainly I have a 350 gear in it versus the 373 I started with 20 years ago. My driveway is on a slight angle and it started to stall so I goosed the throttle a little bit and the back tures just lit right up. The power to weight ratio is incredible. That Comp Cams nostalgia 327 camshaft is so snappy.
