    So I'm willing to bet that old Oliver saws will now become next to impossible to buy cheap.

    Great job Kiwi!!!!

  3. ...AWESOME piece of work !! You got some time in that thing, but oughta make your money back in no time. You should be real proud of that project. Say, how much you want to punch me one louver in a small piece of metal (you supply) and send to me here in the States? I'm serious, I want at least one of them louvers!
    Thanks fer posting.

  4. Damn - that's nice! I continue to be amazed by guys on this board.

  9. Probably the coolest louver press that ever was.

    Very nice Kevin.

    Fwiw, Kev does some terrific interior sheet metal work . . . among other things.
    As you can tell by perusing the pieces on the press.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Kev, is this your car?
    I saw it at March Meet 2003.
    Shot several pics and have been touting it as one of the best 29 roadsters ever.
  15. You are indeed, Mr. Low Buck no dare I say Sir Low Buck.
    That is an awesome achievment and one that I think I'll have to rememeber if I should ever say, "Naw, can't be done."
    So, are you bringing it to the Hunnert Car Pile-Up? :rolleyes: You could louver my Civil Defense helmet for me at the show.
  19. It's a McCulloch centrifugal supecharger with an Almquist 2 carb adapter on top. The blowers were made from 1937-1940 with a few variations. It puts out about 3 pounds of boost when it's wound up. You notice the difference but it's probablly still slower than a stock 283.
  20. Wow. That press is a work of art. Great detail work.
    uote=Kiwi Kev]Here are some pics of my just completed louver press. I started out with the heavy duty frame from an old Oliver jig saw that I bought for $100. I scrounged up an old two way ram with a broken end and a 12volt power unit from a lift gate. I made my own dies from tool steel with a lot of grinding and filing. I paid $35 for the tool steel and $65 to have the dies heat treated. That's all the money I have in it, $200. All the other stuff I either already had, traded for or built. I wanted an old style fat, round louver and I'
    THE WELDS ON THAT DIE look great hope u did em. the only question i have is how do u get your foot on that peddel with it being so high:D i love it ,i make my tools too ......i like makin them verry small and multi functional.
    i dont have alot of room.
  28. Elitiberius.... Good to see you on here Ti'! Sometimes I think I'm the only computer dummy on here, now they can laugh at you and give me a break.
    Redneck... Yes I did the welds on the die. I have a few other home made tools I'll get around to posting sometime.
    I will be happy to louver things for others. Price will be $2.50 per louver to make it worth my time. Free time is something I never seem to have enough of.
  29. Bitchin' ! Love the Comitment to your club in the layout of the decklid on your '34.
