This has me stumped. It was recently posted on the thread How about some love for the T-Bucket? What is a bulldog front end? Anyone out there know?
That's where my head was going as well. When the term is used in an article you would think it was used commonly, but this is the first I have heard of it.
The bulldog mount is similar to the suicide mount. The bulldog one has the mounting plate on the underside of the spring.
I'm thinking that a "Bulldog front end" is a high mount spring perch like T buckets normally have that were around before the T bucket became popular. You see the term in 50's and early 60's magazines.
